It started with a real-world systems
The pattern started early: whenever software introduced friction, Joschua rebuilt the workflow with cleaner architecture and calmer interfaces. From personal tools to production systems, the same principle held: if the software creates noise, engineer the essential path.
The pattern kept repeating - during his apprenticeship building desktop applications, and later as lead engineer at a 10-person company where he shipped everything from internal tools to an AI-powered Shopify app. Unpolished interfaces. Slow processes. Windows desktop software that should have been a web app years ago. After two years leading development as the sole engineer, he quit to do something about it.
Auren Labs exists because most software doesn't respect the people who use it. We believe it should be crafted with intention, not shipped with indifference.

I've been building things for over a decade - from Arduino hardware and embedded systems to iOS apps and full-stack platforms. I started Auren Labs because I believe software should be crafted with intention, not shipped with indifference.
And because I want to build a company where people can actually thrive while doing meaningful work - not one that grinds them down with rigid hierarchies and endless meetings.
Software for global markets
We're based in Germany, but we build for industries everywhere - from Europe to East Asia. Across markets, we see the same patterns: outdated technology, rigid processes, and bureaucratic workflows that haven't changed in decades.
There's an enormous opportunity to bring modern, essential software to industries that are still running on legacy systems and manual workflows - and to do it with the care and precision these markets deserve.
